Sleep deprived, but alive and well

Sorry this took so long to get out. We arrived in La Ceiba @ 11:55 AM, left the airport at 1:45 (after a lengthy process involving our luggage)... 5 hours later (after a flat tire on the bus) we arrived in La Ceiba to a full marching band reception! (I will explain more tomorrow)

As I write this, our group is across the street loading the bus while I find a free internet connection!

The last time most of these kids slept was during my sermon on Sunday (It's 11:15 PM on Monday Ohio time)!

I will take time to write much more tomorrow - I just wanted to get the safe arrival news out tonight!

Btw - when we arrived, the heat hit us like a ton of bricks... $140 and 4 fans later, we hope to make the sleeping a success! Also, the VBS we planned for 60 in the morning is anticipated to have over 200! PRAY FOR MIRACULOUS PROVISION OF VBS SUPPLIES!

Thanks for the update of your arrival. Sorry to hear about the bus tire and the heat but God certaily has plans for you. So exciting to hear about the number of kids you are anticipating for VBS! God's word is in high demand. Madeline-so are you going to help lead Padre Abraham?

YAY! You're there! And you're uncomfortable, aren't you? Good! :-) You're just where God wants you. I'm praying you sleep well in spite of the heat. I'm praying you'll have a stellar VBS in spite of the lack of supplies and surplus of students. Remember that God loves to work in situations where it SEEMS like impossibility rules. He can help you overcome your discomfort to focus outward. Trust Him! He can help you sleep even when it is sweltering hot. Trust Him! He has brought 200 children to hear about Jesus (WOW!). Trust Him, for His plans for your time there are obviously BIG and Kingdom-Centered. Remember... It is ALL about Jesus!

One of my first thoughts after reading 200, was 5 loaves & 2 fish. God will provide and obviously has GREAT plans. Rest at the feet of Jesus and know that many are lifting each of you up to Him. We are thankful for your safe arrival and continue to look forward to hearing about your experiences. Look up to Him with open hands -- He will fill them!

Glad to hear you arrived safely

In our devotion today, Our Daily Bread had some fitting thoughts with uncomfortable situations. Read Romans 5:1-11

The Lord knows we all need to change and grow spiritually. In Romans 5:3-4, Paul taught that life’s predicaments can produce godly character in us.

Here are some suggestions:
1) Remember that your troubles did not take God by surprise. He is still in control.
2) Believe that God has a solution, a provision, or a gift of wisdom to match your difficulty.
3) Pray, affirming your faith in God and expressing your confidence in His loving purpose for you.
4) Wait with expectancy and availability, trusting God to work out His perfect will.
5) Praise Him – even before He acts.

This gives God an opportunity to work creatively, both in us an in our circumstances. Best of all, even if circumstances don’t change, He uses them to change us.

I am so glad that you made it safe and sound. Danny, by the way Cindy has just found out that she will have no one to fight with for the next 10 days. I hope that all of you have a great time and my family will be praying for you the whole time

Grayden, the boys all prayed for you last night:
Micah - Jesus, Please help Grayden be good at Honduras's house.
Keegan (even more confused)- Please don't let Grayden get killed in Vietnam.
Caleb - Of course, he prayed in tongues. Who knows what he said? Probably asked for a flat tire on the bus?! We won't give him a turn tonight. :)

So glad to here everyone has arrived safe and sound. I can just feel the anticipation of the children with who you will be having VBS with!! Never underestimate what God can do with willing hearts and hands. I am aniticapting an awesome report of the days happenings.

Emily C. - I pray these little children feel the love of God through you!! This is an awesome opportunity to do great things! I love you so much.

We have been praying for the people in Honduras that they will be ready to hear about God's love, I can't wait to hear what God does while you all are there! 200 kids that is awesome!!!

I am so excited that Jacob has the chance to experience all that will happen while you're there. I can't wait to hear more. I'm praying for all of you!

Oh, come on, 200 kids? That's a breeze! Tee Hee! I am SO excited to here all about it and I'm wishing I was there to experience it firsthand. Cammie kind of made Galatians 6:9 our Children's Ministries "theme verse"...Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Don't give up kids, leaders! Even when it's sweltering hot and you have four times the kids you were expecting, DON'T GIVE UP! God is good - He will supply all your needs! What an awesome opportunity you have all been given to minister to so many children. Praying for you all. Have fun JAKE! I want to hear EVERY detail.

Hey Alexis, Amy and Tyler. Its Gabbi, and Dain. We are just sitting here about to watch a movie and missing all of you. Im doing ok but Dain is about to die he is missing Alexis so badly. I cant wait till you guys get back, I need to tell you all the things that have happend. I cant believe all the things that can happin in two day. Dain wants to say "I miss you alexis and it has only been two days I cant wait to talk to you when you get back. I love you so much and im praying for you."

Indians beat the Angels 5-2

Paul Byrd avoided the long ball and the big inning and got homers in support from Andy Marte, Casey Blake and Jhonny Peralta as the Indians won for the seventh time in eight games. Rafael Perez worked out of a jam in the sixth after Byrd left.

The bus broke down, eh? Did you write a few hundred more verses to De Colores? Isn't that how we got that song to begin with? Haha, I think that next time the bus breaks down, you should write an annoying song that goes on forever and has some very good meaning but then force people to sing it before every meal. But hey, that's just my thoughts on the subject.

Emily C - just looked at the pictures. You building a bunk bed????!!!! I can see you decorating one, but building one . . . but I know with God's help you built a beautiful bunk bed!!! Remember - "Whatsoever you do, do it heartily as unto the Lord."
